Results : Prebloom. In these results we have summed all stages of lygus bug in 3 sweep samples, 1,8, and 15 days after prebloom applications. Lygus bugs populations were lowest in late clip strips. Early clip strips also had reduced bug populations in the first two weeks after the prebloom spray.
The dashed line is the published spray threshold for Lygus bug. Late clipped strips were the only place where a decision for a bloom spray would be postponed 15 days after the prebloom spray, but at that time little bloom was available in the late clipped strips.
